Celebrate ~ PTI Blog Hop

celebratemaureenplut

Hi everyone!  I finally made a few spare moments to make a card this week!  I always love to participate in the Papertrey Ink blog hop.  We were asked to use this photo for our inspiration…

pti hop

I took the colours from this photo and translated them into Tim Holtz distressed ink colours.  I smooshed them on my craft mat, spritzed them with water, then laid a piece of white PTI cardstock on top.  Here’s my work space…

I went over to Laura Bassen’s blog to get some more inspiration on how to NOT cover up all this beautiful water colour.  I went for a black banner with simple white sentiment.  Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the hop!

Have an Amazing Birthday (and Friday!)

amazingbirthdaymaureeplut

Good morning, everyone!  It’s my favourite day of the week and my favourite Friday challenge!  Here’s the new Viva La Verve sketch hot off the press!

VLVFeb15Week3Sketch

Oh, I love me some tags and twine!  I pulled out the Happy Place stamp set with the Happy Doodles Die Set to make those fun doodle flowers.  Then I used a sentiment from Poppy Birthday in the cork frame I cut with the Rounded Scallop Frame Die.  Some Shine Bright Sequin Mix adds shine and sparkle :)

Head over to the Viva La Verve Blog for all the details on how you could win some BIG Verve Bucks!  Have a fabulous start to your weekend.  I’m off on a two day Professional Development Conference here in town.  We’ve got some amazing international speakers here.  It’s going to be fantastic!

Love, Clean & Simple ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

lovemaureenplut

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of Donut Delight will be invited as a Guest Designer in our next challenge!

Are you done with hearts and love?  I’m sure not.  As I always say, it’s not just for weddings, anniversaries, or Valentine’s Day, it’s for every day.  And I’m not just talking romantic love, but love for family, friends, neighbours, community, students, strangers, the earth, God…and the list goes on.  More love, lots of it, 24/7 :)  So with that, I saw hearts when I looked at those yummy donuts.  I wanted a super clean and simple card and that’s what I came up with.  “Love,” clean and simple.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

I Have Loved You for 3417 Days!

beminemaureenplut

Good morning everyone!  Happy Valentines Day!  I am fortunate that days around here are often like Valentine’s Day.  The DH is quite sweet and attentive :)  However, I still like to make him a handmade Valentine’s card on February 14th.  I’m all about putting a little twist on things and was so happy that this card turned out.  I was inspired by the PTI Challenge to use a stamp set that hadn’t been inked yet.  I have a little pile of stamp sets so it wasn’t too hard to find something.  I’m using Uncorked for the first time and it was so fun to mix it with some Heart Print images and “be mine” sentiment.  Here’s the inside…

inside

Yes, it’s been exactly 3417 days since I told my Valentine I first loved him :)  How’s that for a good memory?  It was a long weekend so I knew the exact date and then this Time and Date calculator did the rest!  I also put “2005” on the bottle to commemorate the year :)  Sending you all hugs and love!

Teachers Live Forever

teacherslivemaureenplut

Hi everyone!  TGIF!  Oh how I love me a Friday!  It’s also my last “free” weekend before Spring Break. That is if writing papers and sneaking into work is considered “free.”  Oh, but it’s all good!  I must say I get more done by being busy :)  Today’s card is for the new Viva La Verve Sketch.  Since it’s so close to Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d sneak a heart on my card!  Making teacher cards sure feeds my soul :)  Head over to the Viva La Verve blog and see how you could win some Vervey Love!  All the details are there plus some more inspiration with the sketch. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Celebrate You, Papertrey Ink!

celebrateyoumaureenplut

Hi everyone!  I’m back again with another card for the Papertrey Ink’s Anniversary challenge.  I’m throwing my anal retentive caution to the wind and not participating in order this year! LOL  I’m just grabbing bits of time and matching up cards I need with the challenges :)  This one celebrates a dear colleagues birthday today and will be sitting on her desk this morning with some chocolate :)  I couldn’t resist using a heart doily for that half circle…it’s almost Valentines Day, right?  Here are the colour and sketch recipes I used…

You Are 2 Sweet ~ Papertrey Ink Challenge

gifttagmaureenplut

Hello!  Today’s project was inspired by the Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenges that are going on right now.  This time we are asked to make a gift tag and gift box ensemble.  I fudged a bit on the gift box and am using this sweet little pail I picked up at Target.  I filled it with things that are pink and red and attached the sweet little tag :)

gifttagcloseupmaureenplut

This is sitting on our most lovely secretary’s desk waiting to surprise her.  She is so sweet that I told her she can’t retire until I do!  Some of you may remember the green surprise I left her last year for St. Patrick’s Day…I thought I’d mix it up a bit this year :)

The original idea came from this blog I pinned from Pinterest.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week :)

A Very Happy Birthday

veryhappybirthdaymaureenplut

Hi everyone!  Just popping in with a couple of cards for the Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenges.  First up is for the Build a Bouquet Challenge asking us to create a bouquet with two or more stamp sets.  I’ve used Friendly Flowers and Ruby Rose for my sets.  I just love that sentiment!  I’ve gone back to my roots and added some “buttons” and “bling.”  This makes Moe happy!

Next up is my card CASEing Maile Belle.  The Anniversary Challenge is, you got it, use one of Maile’s cards to inspire…easy to do, her projects are golden!  I went over to her blog and found THIS CARD to CASE…

Here’s Maile’s… I kept the colours, the birthday theme, the layout, and added some sparkly enamel dots that remind me of her!

Thanks for stopping by!

Be My Valentine

bemyvalentinemaureenplut

Hello!  I had a little stack of paper and this half heart doily left from another project so I thought I’d layer it all up and stitch it onto this distressed inked background.  I’m entering this in the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge: Think Pink.  I think it’s easy to see how I used pink!  I sure do love this colour!  I’ve used pink distress inks to make a watercoloured background, some pink heart paper, some pink sequins and some pink ink on the  Verve Hearts and Swirls frame.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope your weekend is going well!

Welcome to the World

littleangelgirlmaureenplut

Hey friends!  Today’s card is for this week’s PTI Make it Monday challenge.  We are asked to use cover plates to create a shadow effect.  None of my cover plates would do this week, but this sweet little book plate sure sure would and did!  I’ve got my cards at work and they are selling like hotcakes!  I thought I’d make a couple quick baby cards to help replenish the stash!  This book plate is so sweet that it really stands on its own :) Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon!

Happy Birthday CASE

happybirthdayCASEmaureenplut

Hello friends!  Happy Groundhog Day!  And happy birthday to the love of my life…

IMG_5285

I needed a masculine CAS card for this handsome and handy husband so I went straight over to Laura Bassen’s website, Doublestick Heaven.  That’s where I found this totally fabulous card!  Find Laura’s card HERE.

Winni & Walter-In a Word: Love

I just love the joyful colours and CAS design.  My versamark was not cooperating with the white embossing powder so I redid the sentiment with SU’s white craft ink and then the white embossing powder.  Much better!

I’m all for an early Spring, how about you?  Have a great week :)
