Merry Christmas (from all of us!)

merrychristmas

Good morning and welcome to my TGIF post! It’s the last day of November and the first sketch of the December Viva La Verve challenges!  Amber is starting the month off right with a fun sketch with so many possibilities :)  I grabbed my Basicgrey Aspen Frost paper pad and pulled out some papers that made me smile.  I die cut  a lace doily from one of them and unfortunately it’s mostly covered by the other elements.  Really, though, that whole pad is gorgeous!  Want to win some big Verve bucks?  Play all month with our Viva La Verve sketches over on the SCS forum and YOU could win $100 to the Verve Store!  How’s that for a whole lot of Merry Merry?!  AND, there’s always a sale on at Verve… click on the photo below!

With Gratitude ~ CASE Study #119

withgratitude

Hi everyone!  Welcome to another fun week over on the CASE Study Blog!  We are being treated to a sweet, adorable card by our November Muse, Angeline Yong.  How {literally} yummy is this card?  I focused on the colourful bakers twine and “thankful” sentiment.  Bakers twine has become another little addiction and I have it in all colours now, thanks to this ETSY Store :)  I’m also a little hooked on PTI’s grid cardstock.  It was out of stock for awhile but I finally snagged a couple of packs.  The organized, anal part of me loves the clean, graphic lines which are also functional when lining up your sentiment stamps! Bonus!

My Greatest Joy ~ Happy 24th!

IMG_6289

Good morning!  It’s that special day in my life when I share my son’s birthday card.  He’s 24, far from being little, but he’ll always be my “baby,” right?  I usually share his first baby pictures, but I thought I’d treat you to our first “Santa Hat” Christmas photo.  We continued this tradition for several years until it got too difficult once he moved to go to university. Back when I was young and brunette!

And as per tradition, Jake will get his birthday cake when he comes home for Christmas.  I’m a stickler for everyone having a birthday cake to make a wish! And a cake made by someone who loves you has more wish-coming-true clout ;)  Have a great day :)

Howdy Christmas!

howdychristmas

Good morning, friends!  I’m starting to think about my own Christmas cards now and decided that this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch was the perfect inspiration for Dad’s Christmas card.  I don’t have the latest Yonder Star set so I paired Back in the Saddle with Compliments of the Season to create a Western themed Christmas card.  I think Dad will get a kick out of it ;)  So no “bells” and whistles on this one.  Dad’s a pretty Plain Joe kind of guy so I kept things low key (minus the sweet twine bow and stitching! HA!).  Thanks fer stoppin’ in!

Peace on Earth ~ Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

peaceonearthmplut

Hello again!  I couldn’t help but make another card for this month’s Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  I tried looking for my own cover to use, but it was driving me crazy, so I opted to use the ones Nichole offered.  I love the colours on this second cover.  My new Echo Park paper pad has oodles of these colours in it, so it was easy to find some fabulous paper to use.

Thanks for visiting again!  I love when the hop is on a weekend so I can look at all the entries :)  Enjoy!

Happily Ever After ~ PTI November Blog Hop

Good morning!  I’ve got two posts today as I made 2 cards for this month’s Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  I couldn’t help myself!  We are asked to be inspired by book covers.  I’m hoping the inspiration for this first card is a giveaway!  I have a dear blog friend (many of you will know!) who recently got engaged on a very special trip to Canada ;)  So when I saw the gradient colours, the hearts and the CAS design, I knew I had the perfect ingredients for an engagement card ;)  I

Peace ~ Love ~ Joy

peacelovejoyvlvnov4

Good morning!  Can it be glorious Friday again?!  Now that reports are done and handed in, I can focus more on getting for Christmas.  There will be 2 lists, one for home and one for my class.  Today’s card uses some of my favourite items, a few which arrived by happy mail last Friday :)  It also uses the new Viva La Verve sketch brought to us by Diva Teresa.  I was channeling her BIG time while making this card.  She loves distressing, lace, gorgeous paper and made the sweetest little trees out of patterned paper during the last Verve Release (see her card HERE).  Have you been playing all month?  Head over to the Viva La Verve forum to see how YOU could win $100 in Verve Bucks!  But wait, before you go, have you heard about the fun SALE going on in the Verve Store?

A Whole Lot of Merry ~ CASE Study #118

awholelotofmerry

Hi everyone!  Welcome to another fun week over on the CASE Study Blog!  Feast your eyes on this beauty by our November Muse, Angeline Yong.  I love the way this one layer card looks like more than one layer!

118CASEnov22

I’ve continued the Christmas card making by using holly leaves and berries instead of leaves and by adding a matching holly die cut (couldn’t resist!).  I also added some berry bling for a little sparkle ;)  How are YOU inspired by this card?  I hope you’ll join us this week. Take a look at the Design Team’s take on this week’s card over on the CASE Study blog or directly on their blogs…

Wishing You Peace

Hi again!  I’ve got another Verve Release card to share :)  I used two different sets, Merry and Bright and Joyous Noel to create the sentiment.  I LOVE doing that!  Nothing too difficult…just some ribbon, bells, die cuts and some gorgeous paper that really does all the work! Thanks for popping by!

October CARDS Publications

generosity

Good morning!  Just popping in quickly again with my cards that were in the recent October CARDS magazine.  I really love this first one with the layered PTI Frilly flowers.  It is such a great set!

bonjourtrigger

This second one was a Tuesday Trigger card…no go on a Moxie Fab shout out, but a go for publication :)

And this last one uses so many of my favourite things :)  Thanks for stopping by!  There was little time to stamp this past week but I should be getting back into my groove now that reports are done :)  Thanks for spending a few moments with me :)

Joy to the World

joytotheworldpj

Hey Peeps!  Just posting a quick card I made during the Verve Release a few weeks ago.  I kept a few projects to post during report card writing time so it wouldn’t seem like I dropped off the face of the earth ;)  Nothing new here except the fabulous new Plain Jane and the new snowflake image from Merry and Bright :)  Otherwise, non traditional colours, some sparkly stitched ribbon and, of course, some jingle bells :)  Have a wonderful day…the reports will be done by late afternoon! Woohoo!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Glory to the Newborn King

vlvnovweek3

Good morning!  I knew this week would go by quickly just because it’s report card writing weekend!  LOL  I’ve relinquished all the household duties to the DH this week and will knock these babies off ASAP :)  Then I’ll be able to focus on getting ready for Christmas :)  Today’s card uses the new Viva La Verve sketch by our own sweet Diva Janelle.  I had a few ideas for this sketch, but opted for a shabby/vintage feel as I was using a spiritual sentiment.  I chose this particular stamp from the newly released Joyous Noel because of the way it fit so well on the Ribbon Banner die :)  I also had this gold Ribbon Banner shape in my “use me!” pile so then I just had to follow the vintage feel with a doily and stitching :)

VLVNov12Week3Sketch

I hope you’ll join us this week over on the Viva La Verve Forum!  If you play all month with all the sketches, you could win $100 in Verve Dollars!  Now that would be one FANTASTIC shopping spree!  Have a glorious day!

Greetings everyone! Welcome to another fun week over on the CASE Study Blog!  Let’s get right to the next fabulous inspiration card by this month’s Muse, Angeline Yong.

I love the kraft card base and the pop of red and green so I continued with my Christmas card roll! I just received my latest PTI shipment with Bells and Boughs and HAD to ink up those super fun poinsettias!  I hope you’ll join us this week.
