Wishing You a Fabulous Day

To see my CASE Study post, click HERE!

fabulousday2

Good morning!  When I saw the colourQ colour palette this week, I was intrigued…a different combination, but an oh so fabulous and different one!  These colours made me think of French country for some reason (without the yellow).  I broke out my new Waltzingmouse Stamps Chicken Wire background (this one is NOT leaving the desk area for awhile!).  Now I must confess that this card was made with a bit of a boo boo…this is the first photo of it…

fabulousday

Can you see the blooper?  After downloading this photo and then checking back on the colourQ site, I noticed that I forgot one colour…bashful blue! ACK!  So I had to replace that fabulous little resin flower with a sweet little baby blue button with twine.  I missed the sparkle of the first take so I added some gems to the sentiment.  I love both, how about you?  Last night as I was preparing this post, I thought that I should have distressed the edges a bit and added some stitching…my go to moves on a card…but I think I kind of like it the way it is…shabby chic with some hard edges…just like me! ACK {wink!}.  Have a lovely day…I’m taking my class to gymnastics this morning…they’ll love it!  Especially jumping into the foam pit!  Thanks for stopping by! Have a good one!

Beyond the Clouds ~ CASE Study # 93

beyondtheclouds

Hello!  Today’s card is for this week’s CASE Study challenge!  Sadly, though, it’s our last week hanging out with our May Muse, Agnieszka Malyszek.  Oh, have I learned a lot about CAS!  Well, at least CAS for me :)  Here’s Aga’s card for this week…a fabulous spring board for your creativity…

93 may 31

I just shifted the sketch elements up a bit on my card and tried to keep blue as a main focus.  As I was deciding what sentiment to use, I came across this one in a PTI set.  I loved the thought of it so here it is :)  It didn’t quite fit right on the circle panel, so I stamped a little row of stars from another set to fill in some more space.  So what do YOU see when you look at Aga’s card?  I’d love to see what you come up with.  Head over to the CASE Study blog and see how the rest of the Design Team was inspired, then join in the fun!  Thanks for stopping by!  The weekend is just around the corner :)

Mon Amie

Bonjour mes amies!  Today’s sweet little card comes to you with a little help from this week’s Retro Sketch challenge.  How could this tag-addicted stamper bypass this sketch?  Well, I couldn’t!  I uncovered my adorable Eiffel Tower die this week and realized I hadn’t used it yet!  Good heavens!  I paired it with a French sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps and a sweet metal badge from Pink Paislee.  And because it is French inspired, I thought a little bling was in order {sigh, grin!}.  Wishing you a fabulous day! À bientôt !

For All You Do

forallyoudo

Good morning!  I was so happy when I remembered that I hadn’t used this week’s My Favourite Things sketch yet!  It gave me the opportunity to play around with some items that I love, but haven’t used up yet…i.e. the October Afternoon Miscellaneous pack (cream button and Jollybook card) and the Schoolhouse paper…yes, I have a bit left, but not much!  I want you to notice that I made my apple a Golden Delicious apple, ‘cause this teacher doesn’t always eat the red ones! ACK!  LOL.  With year end just around the corner, I figured I needed a few more teacher “Thank You” cards.  Oh, notice how I kept her “modest” by covering up the bare legs!  EEK!  Hope your week is humming along…thanks so much for visiting :)  See you soon :)

Earth Has No Sorrow

earthhasnosorrow

Good morning!  Well, after a few days of not being in the studio (the new sundeck was just too fabulous), I spent most of yesterday in the studio creating and doing some DT catch up :)  I noticed it is almost the end of May (how did THAT happen?) so I had Jen’s Sketch for You to Try on my TO DO FIRST list :)  For some reason, this sketch had sympathy card all over it for me.  Maybe it was because of this lovely Skipping Stones Design sentiment.  I wanted to use their stamps as they are sponsoring this month’s sketch :)  Yikes, it’s Monday!  Hope your week has started out with a bang!  Enjoy!

Be Okay

vlvmayweek5

Good morning!  Today’s card is ala this week’s Viva La Verve sketch challenge over in the Verve Forum!  Sweet Diva Andrea is in charge of this end of the month CAS card.  Okay, so my card isn’t that CAS, but you can dress it up or down as much as you little heart desires :)

VLVMayWk5sketch

I’ve been smitten with this Be Okay Plain Jane every since its quiet release a few months ago. (It’s also on SALE right now!) It has not made its way into my Verve binders, but instead sits in a place of honour on my desk with all the goodies I can’t bear to file away yet :)  I love the way it fits perfectly onto the Ribbon Banner die :)  Yup, there’s some more of that new BasicGrey paper…I just love the mix of colours in this one :)  I hope you’ve been playing with all the Viva La Verve Sketches this month…if you have, link up all your cards in the Champion Thread for the chance to win some BIG VERVE BUCKS!  Have a lovely weekend!  The dh is HOME finally for a weekend so we are breaking in the sundeck and new furniture with a little family soiree and barbeque :)  The forecast is for sun all day so let’s hope it’s true.  Have a super lovely weekend :)

Someone So Special ~ PTI May Blog Hop

someonespecial

Good morning!  Welcome to my card for the Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop!  Today’s post is an homage to my sweet blog friend, Janelle, who, as many of you know, passed away a couple of weeks ago from brain cancer.  But I am here to celebrate her and my last card to her.  I will be mailing this to her husband and children this weekend.  I want you to notice the music sheet paper I used for the center flower.  It’s some of the paper that Janelle sent me 2 years ago and was the start of our online friendship and mutual admiration of each other’s work.  I made a comment on how much I loved the paper during the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and she sent me some…then I sent a postcard from Canada to one of her preschool classes…and the rest, they say, is history.  I knew when I made this card, I had to use some of it.  Her random act of kindness, strong faith and love of life are just some of the many beautiful things I will remember about her.  She will never be forgotten.  Thanks so much for visiting and all your lovely comments :)  Enjoy the Hop!

Feel Better Soon!

feelbettersoon

Good morning!  Well, all the stars seem to be aligned for me this week as I’m hitting 3 challenges in one with this card!  Seriously, I was only trying to combine this month’s Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Hop  (felt or cozy fabrics) with their sketch challenge this week.  But then I noticed I have a lot of circles going on here, so I'm also entering this card in the A Passion for Papertrey’s Super Circles challenge :) ACK!  Can you believe it!  I’m sure there are a gazillion other challenges that this could fit, but these are a few of my favourites :)  Have a lovely day…only 2 more days until the weekend :)

Thank U ~ CASE Study #92

thanku

Hello!  I’m back with another stunning card from our CASE Study May Muse, Agnieszka Malyszek.  Here’s the CAS with HUGE impact!

92 may 24

I loved the large single letter so opened up my Verve You and I set with matching die.  Then I picked out some new Authentique paper and added some horizontal strips to mimic the text lines on Aga’s card.  Oh, this was FUN!  I hope you’ll join us this week over on CASE Study…check out what the rest of the design team came up with, then create away!  Thanks for visiting :)

With All My Heart, Thank You

Good evening!  My regular posting schedule seems to be off a little bit again thanks mostly to the wonderful weekend the dh and I had :)  It was exactly what we needed, so no worries here :)  I started playing around with the colours from this week’s colourQ inspiration photo…check out that sexy and fabulous shoe! ACK!
cqc138
After leafing through my paper, I found paper from 3 different paper pads PLUS they all came from 3 different manufacturers! Whew!  Then I remembered that PTI’s Make It Mondays video was about mixing patterns.  So after I made this card, I watched the video.  Hmm, does that still count?!  Teehee…loved hearing Betsy’s voice and seeing her fabulous collection of patterned paper! Wow! So I’ve been able to combine 2 challenges! Eek! Haven’t done that for awhile, but it happened so naturally, I’m rolling with it :)  Had so much fun mixing these fun colours, using some of my new dies and stamps and just being in the studio :)  Thanks for visiting and for all your sweet comments :)  Sweet dreams!

The Most Special Thing about this Card

mostspecialthing
Good morning! It’s our Victoria Day holiday here in Canada so I’m having a lazy morning in my jammies in the studio with morning talk shows and coffee!  Can’t wait until the summer when I’ll get to do this every day :)  Some of you know that the dh and I snuck away for a little mini vacation this weekend.  We had a super fun time shopping, tasting wine and enjoying each other.  We were in a neighbouring town with an LSS so, of course, I had to stop by and say hi…it would be rude not to!  They had a nice selection of 6x6 paper pads, ribbon and metal badges along with some fun Memory Box dies.  I couldn’t resist this delicate butterfly!  And used it right away to make today’s card.goodies
I am playing along with the Runway Inspired Challenge.  I focused on the colours in that dress and the center image that reminds me of a butterfly.

Okay, a little more play time then off to the grocery store :)  Thanks for dropping by!

Husband and Wife

husbandandwife

Good morning!  Today’s card is very appropriate for my weekend.  See, this husband and wife are on a little mini vacation enjoying some shopping, sunshine and most importantly, each other :)  I had some play time in the studio before we left and the new Play Date colour challenge AND the Moxie Fab World Damask and Brocade challenge were calling to me.  You have to be careful with black and yellow…it can look bumblebee-ish which is fine if you want that look…but I wanted it to look elegant (damask) and funky (polka dots).  Hope that’s how it came out.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you are enjoying some sunshine where you are…if not with the weather, then in your heart :)

Spread Your Wings ~ Viva La Verve!

spreadyourwingsvlvmay4

Good morning!  Woohoo! It’s the Friday of a long weekend!  How sweet is that?  AND I’m the host over on the Viva La Verve Forum this week!  I have been having a little love affair with my new Amy Tangerine paper pad so couldn’t resist using some more on my card today.  Does this sketch look familiar?  LOL  I’ve used it a few times now but love how you can change up the shapes like I did!  I tried putting the main sentiment in a circle, but it just didn’t look right.  So here it is on a rectangle! ACK!  My sentiments are from Verve’s Wings of Love and the butterfly image is from Chicks Rule.  Do butterflies soar?  Well, this one does on a long weekend!! HA!

 VLVMayWk4sketch

Hope to see you over in the Viva La Verve forum this week!!  Oh, have you checked out what’s for sale in the Verve Store?!  Check out the deals by clicking the banner below!  Have a fabulous start to your weekend!!

Hey there!  We’re getting closer to our Canadian long weekend and I can’t wait…have a little day trip planned to do some shoe, craft and house decorating shopping :)  Today’s card is inspired by the fabulous colour palette over on colourQ this week.  LOVE these!  They remind me of my iPad cover I got on Etsy last spring…

IMG_3615

I made these 2 felt flowers and then spent most of my time putting them around the card in various spots.  They finally ended up this way, although it was  a tough decision :)  An excuse to make this card again!  LOL  Hope your week is humming along as well :)  Thanks for stopping by!
